Der erste Tag vom Jim Clark Revival ist vorbei. Die Trainings wurden absolviert und die ersten Zeiten wurden herausgefahren. Ausfälle gab es soweit keine aber die eine oder andere Reparatur musste schon durchgeführt werden. Auch Heini Mader hat uns schon besucht. Es ist immer wieder eine tolle Erfahrung mit Heini zu sprechen. Nebst der SCC gibt es im Fahrerlager und auf der Rennstrecke noch viel Interessantes zu sehen. Vertreten sind unter anderem die BOSS GP, der Lotus Cup Europe, historische Tourenwagen, F1 Tradition um nur einige zu nennen….

Ebenso haben wir zum ersten Mal unser „neues“ SCC Office dabei. Unser neuer Meeting-Point wird sehr gut angenommen.

Wir sind gespannt auf den nächsten Tag und das 1. Quali.

Das erste Qualifying hat dann am Samstag bei schönem aber leicht bewölktem Wetter stattgefunden. Leider waren nur noch 6 Autos am Start da weitere 2 Teilnehmer ( Jasmin Fiedler und Emanuel Pedrazza ) nach technischem Defekt ausgeschieden sind. Die Zeiten im Vergleich zum freien Training wurden weiter verbessert und Benjamin Hotz auf seinem Ligier Turbo hat sich hinter Michael Lyons auf Gebhardt C91 Cosworth und Marco Werner auf Gebhart C88 Audi auf dem dritten Startplatz eingereiht. Auf dem 4. Startplatz landete Marco Fink auf PRC BMW V8 und auf weiteren Plätzen ( siehe Ergebnisse ) Hanspeter Kaufmann, Arnold Wagner, Andreas Kufner und Diego Romanini.

Nach einem tollen und spannenden Rennen vor 30.000 Zuschauern hat sich Benjamin Hotz auf den 2. Platz vorgekämpft. Auch Marco Fink konnte einen Platz gut machen und landetet zum Schluss auf Platz 3 over all.

Die SCC Wertung lautet wie folgt:

1. Division: 1. Platz Benjamin Hotz, 2. Platz Marco Fink und 3. Platz Hanspeter Kaufmann.

2. Division: Als einziger Teilnehmer: Diego Romanini

Von Samstag auf Sonntag kam über Nacht einiges an Regen runter. Die Strecke war am Morgen noch nass, hat aber für das 1. Quali an diesem Tag um 10.30 Uhr doch noch relativ gut aufgetrocknet. Ein paar feuchte Stellen sind aber noch geblieben. Leider wurde so eine Stelle zum Verhängnis für Benjamin Hotz, er drehte sich zu Beginn der Start-Ziel Geraden gegen Ende des Qualifying und wurde gegen die Boxenmauer geschleudert. Ein Start im 2. Rennen war nicht mehr möglich. Marco Fink hingegen fuhr in der SCC und over all auf den ersten Startplatz noch vor Marco Werner und Felix Haas. In der SCC Wertung folgten ihm dann Andreas Kufner, Diego Romanini, Hanspeter Kaufmann und Arnold Wagner.

Auf der Pole Position zum 2. Rennen auf trockener Strecke und bei Sonnenschein bemerkte Marco Fink dann einen platten Reifen und musste daher aus der Box starten, ebenso wie Arnold Wagner. Nach einer fulminaten Aufholjagd von Marco Fink, einem Dreher von Andreas Kufner und dem Ausfall von Diego Romanini, aufgrund eines technschen Defektes, sah der Zeileinlauf der SCC wie folgt aus.

Platz: Marco Fink, PRC BMW V8
Platz: Hanspeter Kaufmann, Ligier LMP 3
Platz: Andreas Kufner, PRC BMW V8
Platz: Arnold Wagner, PRC Audi Turbo

Die Wertung der Klasse C3 im Momo Sportscar Supercup sah wie folgt aus. Auch hier schaffte es Marco Fink auf den ersten Platz, gefolgt von Hans Peter Kaufmann und Felix Haas.

Großen Respekt vor Hans Peter „Hasi“ Kaufmann der mit 72 Jahren und nach 20 Jahren Abstinenz vom Rennsport an diesem Wochenende gleich 3 Pokale abgeräumt hat.

Alles in allem war es ein toller Auftakt in die kommende Rennsaison. Viele Zuschauer, tolle Gespräche, spannende Rennen, auch wenn es einige Aufälle gab. Ich hoffe wir sehen uns zum nächsten Rennen der Saison am Red Bull Ring.
